Michal BATORY auteur de l'affiche du Festival 2003

Né le 25 août 1959 à Lodz, en Pologne. Formé à l’école nationale des Arts plastiques de Lodz, il bénéficie d’une bourse pour les jeunes artistes attribuée par le ministère de la Culture et de l’Art, qui lui permet de compléter sa formation. A partir de 1987, il s’installe à Paris. Depuis 1994, il travaille comme graphiste indépendant et a pour clients des institutions culturelles : Théâtre national de la Colline, Théâtre national de Chaillot, Bibliothèque nationale de France, Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, Centre Pompidou, Ircam et Ensemble intercontemporain, Radio France, ministère de la Culture et de la Communication... En tant qu’affichiste, il participe à de nombreuses publications et expositions : “Vive les graphistes” et “ 70 affiches pour le droit à la dignité des prisonniers ordinaires ” au Centre Pompidou, (1990 et 1993), “ La paix après Hiroshima ” organisée par le Mouvement pour la Paix (1994), “ Esprit de suite ” à la BNF (1997), “ 100 ans de Bertolt Brecht ” à Berlin (1998), “ Graphistes français ” au Mexique, “ 20 affiches pour la 20e Fête de la Musique ” au Centre Pompidou (2001). Michal Batory a reçu le Premier Prix du public du Festival d’Affiches de Chaumont (France,1996), le Grand Prix national de l’Affiche culturelle pour son affiche, “Le siège de Leningrad” (France, 1998) et le deuxième prix du festival international d’Affiches de Chaumont (France,1999) pour l’affiche “ Ircam-EIC. ”.

Born on August 25, 1959 in Lodz, Poland. A student at the National College of Fines Arts in Lodz, he was awarded a grant for young artists offered by the Ministry for Culture and Arts which enabled him to complete his training. He moved to Paris in 1987. Since 1994 he has been working as a freelance graphic designer for cultural institutions : the Colline National Theatre, the Chaillot National Theatre, the National library of France, the Science and Industry Complex at La Villette, the Pompidou Centre, Ircam and the Ensemble Intercontemporain, Radio France, the french Ministry of Culture and Communication... As a poster designer, he has been involved with many publications and exhibitions : “ Long Live Graphic Designers ” and “70 Posters for the Right to Dignity for Ordinary Prisoners ” at the Pompidou Centre (1990 and 1993), “ Peace after Hiroshma ” organised by the Movement for peace (1994), “ Consistency of Thought ” at the National Library of France (1997), “ 100 years of Bertolt Brecht ” in Berlin (1998), French Graphic Designers ” in Mexico, “20 posters for the 20th Fête de la Musique” at the the Pompidou Centre. Michal Batory received the prize of the Public at the Chaumont International Poster Festival (France, 1996), the National Cultural Poster Grand Prize for his poster “The siege of Leningrad” (France, 1998) and the second prize at the Chaumont International Poster Festival in 1999 for the poster “Ircam-EIC”.
