À travers les envois des graphistes du monde entier, le fonds d'affiches contemporaines, riche de plus de 20000 entrées, représente aujourd'hui une des toutes premières collections françaises, formant un panorama unique de la production graphique de ces vingt dernières années dans plus de soixante pays. Fidèle à sa volonté de privilégier l'ouverture et la diversité, le Festival n'impose plus de thème aux graphistes depuis maintenant quatre ans. Une sélection des affiches reçues est exposée à l'Entrepôt des Subsistances et un Jury composé de cinq graphistes de renommée internationale, représentatif de quatre continents, donnera un palmarès de trois prix ainsi qu'un Excellence Award ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Association), le samedi 13 mai 2006. |
Thanks to the entries of graphic designers from all over the world, the collection of contemporary posters, with more than 20000 entries, is now one of the leading French collections, building a unique panorama of the graphic production of the last twenty years in over sixty countries. Since four years, the Festival has decided not to chose a theme for the competition to stay faithful to its will of overture and diversity. A selection of the posters received is shown at the Entrepôt des Subsistances and a Jury made up of five graphic designers of international renown representing four continents will award three prizes and an Excellence Award ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Association), on Saturday, May 13, 2006. |

Le 13ème Concours “Étudiants, tous à Chaumont !” a pour thème "Derrière la révolte des banlieues". En partenariat avec Le Monde Diplomatique, le Festival invite les étudiants des écoles d'art et de graphisme à s'interroger sur la dimension citoyenne de la création graphique dans une société de plus en plus marquée par les injustices. Une sélection des affiches reçues est exposée à l'entrepôt des Subsistances et un Jury donnera un palmarès de trois prix, le samedi 13 mai 2006. D'autre part, une sélection d'images sera publiée ultérieurement dans les pages de Manière de Voir, bimestriel du Monde Diplomatique. |
The 13 th Competition “Students, All to Chaumont !” is on “What's behind the uprisings in the banlieues”. In association with Le Monde Diplomatique, the Festival has decided to question students of art and graphic design schools about the civic role of the graphic creation in a society more and more marked by social injustices. A selection of posters entered is shown at the Entrepôt des Subsistances and a Jury will award three prizes on Saturday, May 13, 2006. A selection of images will also be published in Manière de voir, a magazine of Le Monde Diplomatique. |

En résonance et en complémentarité avec le Concours " Étudiants, tous à Chaumont ! ", sept ateliers-workshops animés par Isidro Ferrer (Espagne), Shigeo Fukuda (Japon), Marjatta Itkonen (Finlande), Isabelle Jégo (France), Sandy Kaltenborn (Allemagne), Rico Lins (Brésil), Alex Trüb et Valentin Hindermann (Suisse) ont eu lieu du 9 au 11 mai 2006 autour du thème : "Derrière la révolte des banlieues". Les travaux réalisés sont exposés à l'Entrepôt des Subsistances et un Jury de 5 graphistes décernera 3 prix le samedi 13 mai 2006. |
In a will of resonance and complementarity to the “Students, All to Chaumont !” Competition, ateliers-workshops led from May 9 th till May 11 th by Isidro Ferrer (Spain), Shigeo Fukuda (Japan), Marjatta Itkonen (Finland), Isabelle Jégo (France), Sandy Kaltenborn (Germany), Rico Lins (Brazil), Alex Trüb and Valentin Hindermann (Switzerland) had also treated the theme “What's behind the uprisings in the banlieues ». The works realised are exhibited at the Entrepôt des Subsistances and a Jury of 5 graphic designers will award 3 prizes on Saturday, May 13, 2006. |

Fort du succès de Starshooter, le festival de la jeune création moving graphique qui a attiré, le dimanche 12 février 2006, près de 2 000 afficionados au Café de la Flèche d’or, l’équipe de designFLUX, premier média consacré aux acteurs du motion graphic design, récidive avec Starshooter X-short Le DVD-magazine designFLUX et le magazine Étapes: ont lancé en mars 2006 un concours international destiné aux étudiants et aux professionnels. Ce concours a pour objet la réalisation d’une animation « moving graphic » sous la forme d’un spot d’environ 10 à 20 secondes tenant compte du format et du contexte d’utilisation des téléphones mobiles. Deux critères ont été retenus : l'œil et le traitement d'une émotion. « Le format vertical imposé par le mobile se substitue au format de l’affiche premier terrain d’expression de la mouvance graphique. La création graphique continue de remplir sa fonction et transforme par son énergie le téléphone mobile en espace d’émotion, d’humour, d’échange et peut être d’engagement … » |
After the success of Starshooter, the festival of young moving graphic creation which attracted around 2000 aficionados at the Café de la Flèche d’or on Sunday, 12 February 2006, the designer team FLUX, the leading media dedicated to the actors of motion graphic design is back with Starshooter X-short. The DVD design magazine FLUX and the magazine Etapes : initiated an international competition in March 2006 open to students and professionals. The subject of the competition is the creation of a « moving graphic » animation in the form of an ad of about 10 to 20 seconds, taking into account the format and user context of mobile phones. Two criteria were : the eye and the treatment of an emotion. « The vertical format imposed by mobile phones replaces the format of posters, leading terrain of the graphic movement. Graphic creation continues to fulfil its role and with its energy, transforms the mobile into a space for emotion, humour, sharing and maybe even involvement. » |
